Ulsan Office of Education Expands "Teumsae Neulbom" to Reduce Care Gaps
On-site Inspection Teams Formed for Field Checks Until May
Systematic Management of Facilities, Staffing, and Safety
The Ulsan Metropolitan Office of Education (Superintendent Cheon Changsoo) announced on April 22 that it will strengthen on-site inspections and support for the stable operation of "Teumsae Neulbom" at elementary schools running the program.
"Teumsae Neulbom" is one of the care programs at Neulbom Schools, designed to support students who need care during the gap between regular classes and after-school care programs.
Since this year, the Ulsan Metropolitan Office of Education has been expanding the Teumsae Neulbom program to address the waiting demand for the elective care program (formerly the after-school care class). As of March, a total of 37 classrooms are being operated at 32 schools in the Ulsan area.
Currently, about 600 students are participating, and during vacation periods, a separate survey will be conducted to accommodate additional students who require care.
On-site inspections will be conducted from this month until the end of May, with four dedicated officials organized into two teams, each visiting two schools per day. The inspection teams will closely examine classroom spaces and facilities, staffing arrangements, student safety management, and snack provision, among other aspects of program operation. Any issues identified during the inspections will be promptly analyzed, and improvement measures will be sought together.
