"Take the Donghae Line to Uljin"... Sea-wonhan Marine Sports Tour
Uljin County and Korail Collaborate to Launch Marine Sports Tourism Package
Aiming to Boost Railway Tourism and Revitalize the Local Economy
Uljin County in North Gyeongsang Province is launching an experiential tourism product called "Sea-wonhan Uljin Marine Sports Tour" to revitalize the local economy through railway tourism.
This package, planned after signing a business agreement with Korail Gangwon Headquarters in December 2024, is a round-trip train and marine sports experience package. Participants can choose one activity from yacht sailing, freediving, or scuba diving. By reflecting operator discounts and county subsidies, the price has been reduced by up to 50,000 won, significantly lowering the actual cost for travelers.
Uljin County expects that this railway-linked experiential product will serve as an opportunity to improve access to the region's marine tourism and expand the foundation for stay-type tourism. The county also plans to continuously develop a variety of tourism models that connect railway services with local resources.
The package can be purchased through the Korail Train Travel website, Korail Talk, and the Uljin Marine Sports Center.
County Governor Son Byeongbok stated, "With the opening of the Donghae Line, Uljin has become even more accessible by train. I hope that this new package will attract more tourists to Uljin and invigorate the local economy. We will continue to develop differentiated tourism products that allow visitors to fully experience the unique charm of Uljin."
