Non-life Insurance Social Contribution Council Provides 20 Hope Houses to Wildfire Victims in North Gyeongsang
Fully Equipped with Room, Kitchen, and Bathroom
Donated 3 Billion KRW Since 2023
The Social Contribution Council of Non-life Insurance Companies announced on April 21 that it has provided 20 Hope Houses to Yeongyang, Uiseong, and Cheongsong counties in North Gyeongsang Province, which suffered significant damage from large-scale wildfires, through the Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association.
Hope House is a mobile residential facility that was urgently deployed last month to help stabilize the housing situation for wildfire victims. Five units were provided to Yeongyang, and an additional 10 units to Uiseong and 5 units to Cheongsong are scheduled to be supplied.
Hope House is fully equipped with a room that includes storage space, a kitchen, and a bathroom, and also features insulation. The houses are arranged in a complex, which is expected to help foster interaction among residents and provide psychological stability.
Lee Byungrae, chairperson of the council, said, "We extend our condolences to the residents of the affected areas who lost their homes due to the sudden large-scale wildfires," adding, "We hope this support will help them return to their daily lives as soon as possible."

Since 2023, the council has donated 3 billion KRW to produce and support Hope Houses. Last summer, the council provided support to Dangjin in South Chungcheong Province, and Gangjin and Shinan in South Jeolla Province, which were affected by flooding. This year, the council also supported civilian homes damaged by a fighter jet misfire in Pocheon.
