Participants shared the progress of each department's initiatives and the results of on-site inspections, and discussed response strategies for summer natural disasters.
The city has designated the five-month period from May 15 to October 15 as the "Summer Natural Disaster Countermeasure Period" and will begin preparing measures to proactively respond to typhoons, heavy rain, heatwaves, and lightning.
During this period, the city will operate a 24-hour disaster safety situation room and plans to communicate real-time weather conditions to citizens through disaster forecasting and warning systems. Disaster monitoring activities using CCTV and drones will also be strengthened.
In particular, the city has designated a total of 111 locations, including vulnerable residential areas such as semi-basement homes, as intensive management targets and will reinforce a field-oriented safety management system to minimize casualties.
For major construction sites within the city, officials will encourage the early completion of key processes before the rainy season. In addition, preemptive inspections will be strengthened for private sector sites such as apartment construction locations and urban development project areas.
