Gijang County in Busan Conducts Regular Risk Assessment to Prevent Serious Industrial Accidents
Identifying and Reducing Workplace Hazards and Risks in Advance
Gijang County (Governor Jeong Jongbok) announced on the 18th that it will conduct the "2025 Regular Risk Assessment" for its on-site business sites from April to August to prevent industrial accidents and create a safe working environment.
The "risk assessment" is a series of processes under the Occupational Safety and Health Act that involves identifying potential harmful and hazardous factors in the workplace in advance, establishing measures to mitigate these risks, and implementing them. This process plays a key role in preventing serious industrial accidents.
This assessment will be carried out through joint inspections by the Industrial Accident Prevention Team, supervisors, and professional safety management organizations for the relevant business sites, and will also include gathering opinions from on-site workers.
Prior to the assessment, the county held preliminary training on the 16th at Chaseong Art Hall in the county office. The training was attended by about 200 people, including supervisors, managers, and workers responsible for the assessment, and covered topics such as analysis of harmful and hazardous factors and preparation of risk assessment tables.
Jeong Jongbok, Governor of Gijang County, stated, "We will listen closely to the voices from the field so that workers can work in an environment free from industrial accidents," and added, "We will thoroughly implement the 'risk assessment' to ensure that even the smallest risks are not overlooked."
