Over 10 Million Packs Sold in Just Three Months Since Launch
Nongshim Ramen surpassed 10 million packs sold within just three months of its launch.
On the 16th, Nongshim announced that Nongshim Ramen, released on January 13th to celebrate the company's 60th anniversary, achieved this milestone.
Originally launched in 1975, Nongshim Ramen gained popularity with the advertising slogan "Hyungnim First, Awoo First." It holds significant symbolism as it was a key factor in Nongshim changing its corporate name in 1978.
Nongshim re-released the product by upgrading the original 1975 recipe held by the company's R&D to suit recent consumer tastes. The quality was enhanced by using domestic beef and rice as core ingredients, creating noodles that are more chewy and elastic by adding domestic rice, and realizing a refreshing beef broth flavor brewed with Korean beef and vegetable stock. The seasoning soup made with green onions, red pepper powder, and fish sauce added umami flavor.

A Nongshim official said, "Nongshim Ramen is creating a sensation by gifting nostalgia to the 50s and 60s generation and presenting a retro charm to the 20s and 30s generation," adding, "The key to its popularity is the product upgrade tailored to recent changing tastes."
