U.S. State Department Senior East Asia Official Tours Southeast Asia and Japan... Korea Passed Over Again
The U.S. Department of State announced on the 15th (local time) that Sean O'Neill, a senior official of the Department's East Asia and Pacific Bureau, will visit Vietnam, Cambodia, Japan, and other countries from the 16th to the 25th.
Senior official O'Neill is scheduled to meet with high-ranking Vietnamese government officials in Ho Chi Minh City to discuss shared interests that form the foundation of the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.
He will then co-chair the 37th U.S.-ASEAN Dialogue held in Cambodia, aiming to explore ways to promote the common interests of the United States and Southeast Asia.
Additionally, in Tokyo, Japan, he will meet with Japanese officials to discuss priorities for strengthening the alliance and economic partnership between the two countries.
Afterward, he will stop by Hawaii to meet with U.S. military personnel.
