Yeongyang County Allocates 29.2 Billion Won in One-Time Supplementary Budget for Emergency Wildfire Relief
Focus on Restoration and Support for Displaced Residents
Yeongyang County in North Gyeongsang Province finalized an emergency supplementary budget of 29.2 billion KRW on the 14th for the restoration of damages caused by the wildfire that occurred on March 22.
This supplementary budget was organized under the two principles of timeliness and fairness to support the swift recovery from the massive wildfire that originated in Uiseong on March 22 and to help affected residents quickly return to their daily lives.
The budget focuses on key items such as restoration of infrastructure in affected areas, livelihood support for displaced residents, and forest restoration. The county plans to begin full-scale recovery projects starting from the 14th, following the passage of the budget by the county council.
Key items include: 4.6 billion KRW in emergency disaster relief funds, providing 300,000 KRW per person to all county residents; 4.8 billion KRW in emergency relief funds for displaced residents; 4.4 billion KRW for the installation of temporary housing for displaced residents; 5 billion KRW for demolition of damaged homes and waste disposal; 2.2 billion KRW for restoration of agricultural water facilities and support for purchasing agricultural supplies to ensure timely farming; and 800 million KRW in basic disaster income for residents as consolation payments.
