The train made the emergency stop around 3:30 PM on the 11th. At that time, there were about 50 passengers on board. According to the fire authorities, two injured passengers were taken to the hospital, but fortunately, there were no serious injuries.

Following the accident, Paju City sent a safety message stating, "A derailment accident occurred on the Gyeongui-Jungang Line in the Munsan to Seoul direction. Operations are currently suspended. Passengers traveling from Munsan towards Seoul on the Gyeongui-Jungang Line are advised to use alternative transportation." Currently, due to difficulties in normal operation of the Gyeongui-Jungang Line trains, shuttle trains are temporarily operating in both directions between Munsan and Geumchon.
