Mobile Welfare Center to Support Households in Need
A public-private cooperative welfare network has been established in Suwan-dong, Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju, to identify and support households in crisis or isolation.
The Gwangsan-gu Haengbok Dream Comprehensive Social Welfare Center announced on the 11th that it has formed the 'Majubogi Cooperative Network' together with the Suwan-dong Administrative Welfare Center and five LH National Rental Apartment Residential Happiness Support Centers. They will launch community-based welfare projects, including the operation of a mobile welfare center. 'Majubogi' means embracing residents within the local community.

View original imageThrough this agreement, the participating organizations will identify households in crisis, focusing on rental apartments in Suwan-dong. The welfare center will operate a 'mobile welfare center' to visit these households directly, check on their well-being, assess their needs, and provide customized services. Village welfare activists recruited by the center will also participate, offering emotional support and assisting with community activities.
Im Eun-jin, head of Suwan-dong, stated, "We will strengthen field-oriented care to ensure that a practical welfare system operates." Lee Hyun-sook, director of the welfare center, said, "Through the Majubogi Cooperative Network, we aim to create a community without alienation or isolation."
