Moon Geumju Urges Yoon Administration to Stop 'Albakgi' Appointments in Public Institutions
After the December 3 Martial Law, 106 Parachute Appointments Made
"Immediately Stop Planting the Seeds of Insurrection"
Democratic Party lawmaker Moon Geumju (Goheung, Boseong, Jangheung, Gangjin in South Jeolla Province) stated at the full session of the Agriculture, Food, Rural Affairs, Oceans, and Fisheries Committee held on the 10th, "Since the illegal martial law on December 3, the Yoon Sukyeol administration, the ringleader of insurrection, has gone too far with parachute appointments in public institutions," and urged, "Immediately stop the outrageous planting of seeds of insurrection in public institutions."
It has been identified that, since the illegal martial law on December 3, there have already been 106 parachute appointments made or being recruited across more than 20 ministries and agencies.
Moon said, "The Yoon Sukyeol administration, which was impeached for unconstitutional and illegal martial law, has seriously damaged the constitutional order, and the insurrectionist forces, who have shown no remorse, are now planting the seeds of insurrectionary remnants to plunge the country into chaos again in the future."
He continued, "There are rumors that Kim Hoeseon, a former Saenuri Party lawmaker and Seoul National University law school alumnus of former President Yoon, is being considered for chairman of the Korea Racing Authority, a public institution under the Ministry of Agriculture, and that Kim Injung, former vice minister of agriculture at the beginning of the Yoon Sukyeol administration, is being considered for president of the Korea Rural Community Corporation."
He added, "At this point, the appointment of heads of public institutions, including the Korea Racing Authority, is nothing but parachute appointments to plant the so-called seeds of insurrection, causing social controversy and disturbance," and emphasized, "The appointment process for public institution heads who are close allies of the impeached ringleader of insurrection, Yoon Sukyeol, must be stopped immediately."
Moon also pointed out, "Acting President Han Ducksoo has nominated Lee Wankyu and Ham Sanghoon as Constitutional Court justices through unconstitutional and illegal abuse of authority," and continued, "Among the nominees, Lee Wankyu, head of the Ministry of Government Legislation, is a person strongly suspected of involvement in insurrection and of political bias, and was nominated as a Constitutional Court justice just one day after receiving the personnel verification request, making it clear that proper vetting could not have taken place."
Meanwhile, Moon condemned, "Such unconstitutional and illegal nomination of Constitutional Court justices is a highly subversive act intended to leave insurrectionary remnants even in the judiciary, and must be immediately withdrawn."
