West Sea Coast Guard Hosts Field Trip for Gwangju University Police Administration Students
Providing Career Exploration Opportunities and Recruiting Talented Individuals
The West Sea Regional Coast Guard Agency (Commissioner Lee Myungjun) announced that on the afternoon of the 10th, it hosted an educational event by inviting students from the Police Administration Department at Gwangju National University to introduce the roles and duties of the Coast Guard.

View original imageMore than 20 students and professors from the Police Administration Department at Gwangju National University visited the West Sea Regional Coast Guard headquarters, where they listened to explanations about the main duties of the Coast Guard and the recruitment plans for maritime police officers. They also experienced maritime special situation simulations and advanced investigative equipment at the simulation shooting range and the digital evidence analysis room.
Afterward, they moved to the Mokpo Regional VTS to learn about vessel traffic control procedures and to experience control equipment, further deepening their understanding of the roles and duties of the Coast Guard.
One student who participated in the tour said, "Through this event, I was able to learn about aspects of the Coast Guard that I was curious about, and seeing the officers at work inspired me even more to pursue my dream of becoming a member of the Coast Guard."
The West Sea Regional Coast Guard Agency plans to continue operating a variety of field trip programs in the future so that young people aspiring to join the Coast Guard can experience the real working environment firsthand.
