The project will be implemented in the areas around Daepyeong-ri, Geochang-eup, and the 2nd Changpowon, serving not only to absorb fine dust and store carbon, but also to contribute to climate crisis response. Alongside the 36-hole park golf course being built in the 2nd Changpowon, it will also enhance the city's landscape by creating a beautiful forest.
The '36-hole Park Golf Course within the 2nd Changpowon' is a pledge project from the 7th term, which has been in the works for about eight years since 2018 through consultations with the Nakdong River Basin Environmental Office. It is now set to be completed in May. Currently, park golf is a highly popular sport nationwide, and with the combination of the 36-hole park golf course and Changpowon's infrastructure, it is expected to attract many visitors.
At the third site, Geochang Changpowon, the governor inspected preparations for the 'Geochang-e On Spring Festival', which will integrate a total of eight festivals, including the 'Arimia Flower Festival', 'Geochanghan Wild Ginseng Festival', and the 'KBS Open Concert', to be held from May 15 to 18.
In particular, while preparing for the 'KBS Open Concert', which is expected to draw more than 7,000 people, the governor reviewed all aspects of event operations, such as stage layout, traffic management, and audience admission control. He discussed anticipated issues and solutions with senior officials and urged them to devise efficient measures to ensure a safe and successful event.
Additionally, Changpowon is currently promoting the creation of an 'Organic Complex', where visitors can enjoy eco-friendly food, relax, and purchase organic agricultural products, as well as the 'Ecotourism and Cultural Complex Project', which will provide attractions such as the Changpo Culture Center and an outdoor performance hall. Geochang County will expedite administrative procedures to ensure that Geochang Changpowon can be elevated to the status of a national garden.
Wrapping up his site visits, Governor Goo stated, "The infrastructure projects promoted from the 7th to the 8th term will now serve as the foundation for the tourism industry to flourish. I ask that everyone continues to communicate progress so that key projects can be completed swiftly, enabling us to accelerate the achievement of a daily population of one million through diverse festival programs."
Meanwhile, Geochang County plans to complete its remaining site visit schedule in April by visiting the Haseongdan Sunset Living Culture Center, Ungyang Youth Return-to-Farming Home, Geochang District Court and Branch relocation site, Geoyeolsanseong Fortress access road, and Youth Rental Housing site.
