Jeonnam Nonghyup Successfully Concludes Breakfast Eating Campaign
For Students on Their Way to School
The Jeonnam branch of NongHyup, together with Jeollanam-do, held the 'Breakfast Campaign for Students on Their Way to School' at Mokpo Hyein Girls' Middle and High School on the 7th.
About 30 people attended the event, including Lee Gwangil, head of Jeonnam NongHyup, Park Sangmi, director of Agricultural Food Distribution at Jeollanam-do, Cha Sanghun, chairman of Jeonnam NongHyup labor union, Lee Jihyang, principal of Mokpo Hyein Girls' High School, and Na Yunseong, principal of Mokpo Hyein Girls' Middle School.
The participants handed out simple breakfast items such as triangular gimbap made from 'Saechungmu Rice,' a representative rice variety of Jeonnam, to students on their way to school, promoting the importance and benefits of eating breakfast.
This campaign was organized as the first step of the nationwide breakfast movement, aiming to foster healthy and proper eating habits among youth?the future of Korea?by promoting the importance of breakfast and the nutritional benefits of rice.
Lee Gwangil, head of Jeonnam NongHyup, said, "Breakfast is more effective for adolescents' nutrition than even a dose of herbal medicine," and added, "Jeonnam NongHyup will continue to promote the nationwide breakfast campaign to improve public health and expand the consumption of our rice."
Meanwhile, the triangular gimbap distributed at the event was made with Saechungmu Rice, a representative variety developed by Jeollanam-do and supplied by Jeonnam NongHyup.
