In December last year, LS Cable & System became the first in the domestic cable industry to receive official approval for its carbon neutrality implementation goals from the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), and is enhancing its Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) management system by establishing a mid- to long-term reduction roadmap aiming for net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. An LS Cable & System official stated, "It is highly meaningful that the Donghae plant has achieved the goal of 100% renewable energy conversion through the introduction of this solar power system," adding, "We will expand the adoption of renewable energy to domestic and overseas plants in the future to build a low-carbon supply chain that meets RE100 (Renewable Energy 100%) and SBTi standards as well as customer demands."
