Gangnam-gu, Home Care Service to Improve Housing Conditions for Vulnerable Groups
General and Special Cleaning Services Provided for Elderly and Hoarding Households
Gangnam-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Jo Seong-myeong) is implementing a ‘Home Care Service’ that provides cleaning and home repair support for vulnerable groups.
Since 2022, the district has supported a total of 3,177 services, including general and special cleaning, pest control disinfection, and small-scale home repairs for 872 households, helping elderly residents with mobility difficulties and those living in poor conditions such as hoarding households to live in a clean and safe environment. This year, applicants will be recruited through the welfare teams at local community service centers.
General cleaning provides monthly cleaning and organizing services for elderly households with mobility issues. Special cleaning, which includes thorough cleaning to remove accumulated household waste and garbage, is provided for hoarding households.
Additionally, depending on the condition of the residence, services such as pest and bacteria removal and disinfection, wallpaper and flooring replacement, installation of insect screens, and small-scale home repairs like installing safety handrails and gas shut-off devices will be supported to improve the living environment for convenience and safety.
