Kimcheon Mayor Bae Nakho Visits Childcare Sites... First Step Toward Creating a Child-Friendly City

Kim Nakho, the mayor of Gimcheon, made his first official move toward creating a "child-friendly city" by visiting childcare sites in person.
On the 4th, Mayor Kim visited Gimcheon Yulgok Daycare Center and Gimcheon City Parenting Support Center to inspect the operation of childcare facilities and listen to suggestions for improvement through conversations with staff and parents on site.
This field visit was organized as a practical first step to overcome low birth rates and strengthen childcare infrastructure, which are among the core values of the 8th popularly elected city administration.
During his visit to Yulgok Daycare Center, Mayor Kim spent time with the children and encouraged the hard work of the childcare staff.
He stated, "We will spare no effort in providing city-level support so that children can grow up healthy and safe," and added, "We will also consider improving the treatment and working conditions of childcare teachers."
During his subsequent visit to the Parenting Support Center, he toured key facilities such as the part-time childcare room, toy library, and multipurpose education room, and exchanged a variety of opinions on childcare support policies through meetings with center staff and users.
Mayor Kim said, "Creating an environment conducive to raising children is an essential task for the sustainable future of Gimcheon," and added, "We will actively reflect the voices from the field in our city administration and implement childcare policies that parents can trust."

Gimcheon City announced that, taking this field visit as an opportunity, it will actively develop and promote customized childcare policies centered on the needs of users. The city also stated that it will continue to expand citizen-oriented policies through regular field inspections and communication in the future.
