Lotte Chilsung Beverage is strengthening its logistics capabilities by opening a logistics center that will serve as a hub in the Gangwon region.
On the 3rd, Lotte Chilsung Beverage announced that it held a completion ceremony on the 2nd for the opening of the Gangneung Logistics Center located at Gongje-ro 21, Gangneung-si, Gangwon-do. About 40 officials, including Park Yoon-ki, CEO of Lotte Chilsung Beverage, and Kim Hong-gyu, Mayor of Gangneung, attended the ceremony, which included an opening declaration, congratulatory speeches, an introduction to the Gangneung Logistics Center, and a ribbon-cutting ceremony to commemorate the completion.
The establishment of the Gangneung Logistics Center was promoted to integrate the logistics operations that were separately managed by the Gangneung branch, Sokcho branch, and Gangneung direct store into one, thereby improving efficiency.
The Gangneung Logistics Center is equipped with facilities such as beverage and liquor storage warehouses, an empty bottle yard, and a liquor packaging workspace, and its location within 10 minutes of the Gangneung factory and Gangneung IC is an advantage. The Gangneung Logistics Center will serve as a regional hub in Gangwon for the stable supply of not only liquor products produced at the Gangneung factory, the main soju factory, but also beverage products. Lotte Chilsung Beverage is also considering a pilot operation of logistics transportation using autonomous vehicles between the Gangneung factory and the Gangneung Logistics Center.
Along with this, at the opening ceremony, Lotte Chilsung Beverage signed a business agreement with Gangneung City to revitalize Okgyegang Port. The plan is to diversify export product transportation routes to maritime paths to secure logistics competitiveness and economic efficiency while promoting regional mutual development. Through this agreement, Lotte Chilsung Beverage will expand the transportation means of products to Busan Port from the existing land route to a maritime route using Okgyegang Port. In the future, they also plan to consider simplifying logistics stages by opening a direct route to Japan via Okgyegang Port.
