Gyeonggi Office of Education Operates 'Budget School' for Resident Participation Budget Advisory Committee
The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education is operating a budget school for resident participation budget advisory committee members.
The Office of Education announced that it will hold a budget school for the "8th Resident Participation Budget Advisory Committee" over two days from the 31st of this month to the 1st of next month.
Earlier, in December last year, the Office of Education publicly recruited members for the Resident Participation Budget Advisory Committee from Gyeonggi residents and selected 33 members.
The advisory committee is composed of ▲an operating committee ▲four subcommittees ▲a research group ▲and a student council, and will engage in various activities related to the Office of Education's budget formulation, such as gathering opinions from local residents and reviewing resident-proposed budgets, until December 2026.

View original imageOn the first day of the budget school held at KB Talentium in Suwon, the Office of Education conducted certificate presentations, provided guidance on Gyeonggi education and the resident participation budget system, elected the chairperson and vice-chairperson of the advisory committee, and assigned members to subcommittees.
On the second day, participants will have time to understand resident participation budget formulation through the introduction of 45 cases of resident participation budgets, including strengthening student welfare support, improving school informatization conditions, enhancing basic academic support, and reinforcing future vocational education.

Gal In-seok, the budget officer of the Office of Education, said, "We hope that the newly launched 8th advisory committee will broadly gather residents' demands during the budget formulation process," adding, "We will carefully consider constructive opinions for the future education of Gyeonggi and strive to enhance fairness and transparency in budget management."
