Sangmyung University Re-selected as Base Institution for Immigrant Social Integration Program
To Be Held in Cheonan and Asan Until 2027
Sangmyung University announced on the 31st that its Korean Language and Culture Center has been reselected as the hub operating institution for the Ministry of Justice's Immigrant Social Integration Program 'Chungnam 1'.
Sangmyung University has been running this program since 2017, and with this selection, it will serve as the hub operating institution for ten consecutive years.
The university plans to continue providing guidance and education on the Korean language, Korean culture, and understanding of Korean society to newly arrived immigrants and other foreigners in the Cheonan and Asan regions.
Jeon Jeongmi, Director of the Korean Language and Culture Center, said, "We plan to develop and support various programs to help immigrants and multicultural families in the Chungnam region adapt," adding, "We will do our best to ensure that immigrants residing in Korea can coexist with the local community through specialized social integration programs."
