During the visit, Director Lee Gye-sam confirmed the provincial support measures such as disaster consolation payments, daily life recovery support funds, and emergency restoration costs through an on-site visit with Pocheon City and related departments, and checked areas that require further supplementation. He also examined the residents' daily inconvenience issues and civil complaint trends, and reviewed practical support plans.
In particular, during this visit, the safety inspection status for building damage restoration was confirmed, and it was explained that restoration has been partially delayed due to thorough inspections and detailed diagnoses.
Director Lee Gye-sam emphasized, “It is important to provide step-by-step guidance so that residents can clearly understand the restoration progress,” and requested, “Pocheon City should actively consider establishing a system capable of individual communication such as ‘1:1 customized guidance.’”
He also stated, “Beyond short-term damage restoration, we will support with a responsible attitude until residents’ daily lives and community recovery are achieved,” and added, “We will continuously cooperate with related departments to do our best to ensure practical restoration and recovery.”
Since immediately after the accident, the province has operated the Disaster Safety Countermeasures Headquarters to promptly execute emergency living support such as accommodation fees, meal expenses, and relief supplies for affected residents, and is currently continuing follow-up measures including psychological healing, hospital treatment, housing restoration, and volunteer linkage for the affected residents.
