During the inspection around Cheonjusan, the wildfire monitoring and initial response system were checked, along with the inspection of wildfire suppression equipment. In addition, wildfire monitors and related personnel participated to review response procedures in the event of a wildfire and to enhance practical response capabilities.
At the site, Mayor Hong shared instructions from relevant agencies following the issuance of the national wildfire disaster crisis alert at the 'Severe' level on the 25th, and as special directives, urged for strengthened guidance and enforcement to prevent accidental fires by hikers and to crack down on illegal burning of agricultural residues and field edges.
Mayor Hong emphasized, "Since rapid initial suppression is crucial to minimizing damage when a wildfire occurs, please maintain thorough preparedness and response posture," and added, "As many spring visitors are expected this weekend, I ask all citizens to actively participate in wildfire prevention."
He further stated, "While wildfire suppression and prevention are important, it is also essential to ensure the safety of personnel working on site," requesting thorough measures to prevent safety accidents.
