Cheorwon-gun, Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province (Governor Lee Hyun-jong) announced on the 26th that the representative direct transaction market for agricultural specialty products of Cheorwon-gun, ‘Cheorwon DMZ Market,’ will open on the 5th of next month.

View original imageThe Cheorwon DMZ Market is held every Saturday and Sunday around the Hantan River Milky Way Bridge and will operate until November 30.
To celebrate the opening on the 5th, the Cheorwon DMZ Market will hold an opening ceremony and commemorative events. Customers who purchase at the Cheorwon DMZ Market will receive a cyclamen flowerpot on a first-come, first-served basis, marking the start of the market filled with freshly harvested agricultural products.
The Cheorwon DMZ Market sells seasonal vegetables such as tomatoes and paprika in midsummer, starting with spring wild greens. In the abundant autumn season, visitors can purchase fresh agricultural products including Cheorwon Odae rice, a representative agricultural product of Cheorwon-gun, and crisp apples.
In addition, at the Cheorwon DMZ Market, visitors can experience various local specialties and foods made from regional agricultural products, such as Makgeolli and handmade yogurt, and also encounter diverse works by local artisans, including wooden crafts and Gyubang crafts.
