As a large wildfire approached the UNESCO World Heritage site of Andong Hahoe Village in Gyeongbuk, authorities deployed helicopters preemptively to carry out firefighting operations.
According to forestry authorities on the 26th, the wildfire that broke out in Uiseong on the 22nd has spread with strong winds and currently reached a hillside about 5 km in a straight line from Hahoe Village in Pungcheon-myeon, Andong.
At present, Hahoe Village is covered in smoke emitted from wildfires occurring in hills and golf courses located 5 to 10 km away.

Fire authorities and residents are using 30 fire hydrants and 19 fire trucks to spray water on houses within the village at two-hour intervals. At the UNESCO World Heritage site Byeongsan Seowon, five fire trucks are surrounding the seowon and conducting water spraying operations.
