'Unknown Vibe' Records 20,000 Visitors... Strong Sales of Works
The 'UNKNOWN VIBES Art Fair,' organized and hosted by Seazpo Co., Ltd., successfully concluded at the Shilla Hotel in Seoul. During the event, 68 galleries and over 500 artists participated, showcasing approximately 3,000 works, and more than 20,000 visitors attended over three days, setting an impressive record.
This figure is about seven times the average attendance of typical hotel art fairs, leaving a strong impression on the industry. The venue was crowded throughout the event, with long queues forming in front of major gallery booths.
The art fair featured a diverse artistic spectrum, presenting works by masters representing Korean contemporary art such as Park Seo-bo, Lee Ufan, Choi Young-wook, and Choi Myung-young, as well as talented mid-career and emerging artists. Additionally, there was intense media coverage throughout the event, and high interest was confirmed through actual artwork purchases.
Moreover, the event offered more than just art appreciation; it included various cultural contents such as tea ceremony and meditation experiences by the Korean Meditation Leaders Association, performances and exhibitions by the Royal Culture Promotion Association, and a scent experience booth by the spatial fragrance company Hwiri, enhancing visitor satisfaction.
Despite an approximately one-hour wait to enter, the event was orderly managed thanks to the Shilla Hotel’s flexible response and the on-site operation team’s systematic progress. Many artworks were sold on-site, bringing meaningful achievements to both collectors and galleries. Participants praised the event, saying, “We were amazed that it proceeded smoothly without any accidents despite the large crowd. It was a new format of hotel art fair unlike anything we have experienced before.”
The event was organized and hosted by a joint organizing committee composed of Seazpo Co., Ltd. at its center, along with Herald, Palace Partners, NIC, Art Owner, Asia Pacific Community, Semi, Art & Vibe, Royal Culture Institute, AP Lounge, and Art in Dongsan. Sponsors included KB Pay, Hwiri, Y Fund, Eccles, Seoul Labs, RWA, Xpeer, Daechi Brewing, and Cortech Co., Ltd.
Seazpo, an art platform company, plans and operates various exhibitions and art fairs under the 'UNKNOWN VIBES' brand and recently launched an online artwork sales service in collaboration with KB Kookmin Card. They are currently developing their own platform, with an official launch forthcoming.
Seazpo CEO Kim Yoon-sik said, “We were surprised by the much larger number of visitors than expected, and we are grateful that our prepared intentions were conveyed,” adding, “We hope this art fair became an opportunity for art to permeate everyday life.”
He continued, “Thanks to the elegant space and meticulous cooperation of the Shilla Hotel, the event was able to run smoothly even with the large number of visitors,” expressing gratitude and stating, “We will return with even more refined content at the art fairs in June and October.”
