This temporary stop has been arranged to revitalize the local festival and attract tourists to Hampyeong-gun, a region experiencing population decline. There will be two southbound and two northbound KTX services per day. Information regarding ticket reservations and purchases can be found on the KORAIL Talk app, the KORAIL website, and at station counters.
Hampyeong-gun will offer various benefits to train passengers, such as discounted festival admission tickets, commemorative gifts, and convenient transportation to the festival venue (free shuttle buses), which are expected to increase the satisfaction of tourists visiting the festival.
Kim Youngjin, Director of KORAIL Gwangju Headquarters, stated, "The temporary stop operation is a measure for mutual growth with the local community," and added, "We will actively support tourists so they can visit the Hampyeong Butterfly Festival more conveniently."
