Shinhan Bank Employees Take Initiative to Improve Living Conditions at Foreign Workers' Shelter
On the 24th, Shinhan Bank announced that its employees conducted volunteer activities to improve the environment of a resting area for foreign workers at the Gimpo Migrant Workers Center ‘Gimpo Iutsalgi’ in Gimpo, Gyeonggi Province, the previous day.
About 50 employees from the Customer Solutions Group participated in the volunteer work. They spent time communicating with foreign workers through spring cleaning of the resting area and serving half-chicken soup (Bangaetang).
This volunteer activity is part of the ‘ESG Win-Win Project - Foreign Worker Support Program,’ which aims to improve the quality of life and provide humanitarian support for foreign workers. In February, Shinhan Bank pledged to sponsor 200 million KRW over two years through the Korea Migrant Health Association’s WeFriends. Through this, projects such as improving the resting area environment for foreign workers, vaccination for infectious disease prevention, and funeral expense support for workers who died while staying in Korea will be carried out.
