Daegu Shinbo and Korea Labor Force Development Institute for the Aged Sign MOU: 2.7 Million Won for 6 Months to Newly Hired Employees Over 60
Recruitment of Participating Employers
Daegu Credit Guarantee Foundation (Chairman Park Jinwoo) announced on the 24th that it has signed a business agreement with the Korea Labor Force Development Institute for the Aged (President Kim Migon) to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and small business owners that create jobs for seniors.
This agreement was promoted to establish an organic cooperation system between the two organizations for the creation of senior jobs, thereby contributing to the revitalization of the Daegu regional economy and the spread of ESG practices.
Under the agreement, Daegu Credit Guarantee Foundation will recruit employers in the Daegu area who wish to participate in the Senior Internship On-site Training Support Project operated by the Korea Labor Force Development Institute for the Aged, aimed at creating jobs for seniors among SMEs and small business owners. The Korea Labor Force Development Institute for the Aged will provide wage subsidies to SMEs and small business owners participating in the Senior Internship On-site Training Support Project. Employers participating in the senior internship can reduce their wage burden, and senior job seekers are expected to benefit from improved employment opportunities.
The "Senior Internship On-site Training Support Project" is a government subsidy program supervised by the Ministry of Health and Welfare, which provides wage support when hiring new employees aged 60 or older. Eligible participants are workplaces enrolled in the four major social insurances that intend to hire new employees aged 60 or above. Applicants must meet the requirements on the checklist. The support includes 2.7 million KRW per person for six months upon hiring a new employee aged 60 or older (an additional 2.8 million KRW is provided for long-term employment). For further details, please contact the Korea Labor Force Development Institute for the Aged.
Park Jinwoo, Chairman of Daegu Credit Guarantee Foundation, stated, "If this agreement vitalizes the Senior Internship On-site Training Support Project, it will reduce the wage burden for SMEs and small business owners, and the creation of senior jobs will contribute to the economic independence and increased purchasing power of the senior class, thereby revitalizing the local economy."
