New President Woo Junyeol: "Change and Innovation Are Necessary"
Modetour announced on the 24th that Woo Jun-yeol, Vice President and eldest son of founder Woo Jong-ung (48·photo), has been promoted to President. Yoo In-tae (66), the current President, has been promoted to Vice Chairman.
Newly appointed President Woo Jun-yeol joined Cruise International in 2002 and moved to Modetour in 2010, where he was in charge of travel operations. Since 2016, he has served as Head of Strategic Planning, Head of Management Support, General Director, and Vice President, overseeing overall management. Modetour explained, "Amid the crisis of the COVID-19 pandemic, he led intensive organizational restructuring as General Director, demonstrating exceptional management capabilities."
Vice Chairman Yoo In-tae joined Kukil Travel Agency, the predecessor of Modetour, in 1991. He served as CEO of Modetour’s subsidiaries Cruise International and Jayu Tour before returning to Modetour as Vice President in 2016 and taking the position of President in 2019.
With the next-generation system development, which has been ongoing for three years, entering its final stage, Modetour plans to accelerate digital transformation and further strengthen the competitiveness of its core business, package tours. Additionally, the company intends to expand its core business by introducing new package business models, expanding premium products, and reinforcing its own channels.
