Daejeon Waterworks Headquarters Conducts Water Quality Tests at Each Tap Water Supply Stage
Inspection of Total Coliform Bacteria, Residual Chlorine, and More at 54 Locations
The Daejeon Waterworks Headquarters announced that it will conduct water quality inspections for each stage of the tap water supply process in the city's water purification zones during March 2025, for the first quarter.
The inspections will be carried out at a total of 54 locations, including main reservoirs, inflow points of water supply zones, outflow points of booster stations within supply zones, and terminal faucets at the end of pipelines. The inspections will cover 12 items, including total coliform bacteria and residual chlorine.
In the 2024 water supply process quality inspection, all items were found to meet the drinking water quality standards. The residual chlorine concentration was also stably maintained within the standard (below 4.0 mg/L), ranging from 0.19 to 0.80 mg/L.
The Waterworks Headquarters plans to maintain a safe supply of tap water through continuous monitoring and systematic management.
Director Park Dohyun stated, "We thoroughly manage every step from the purification plant to the faucet to supply safe and clean tap water," and added, "We will continue to conduct rigorous water quality inspections and facility management to provide tap water that citizens can drink with confidence."
