60-Year-Old Arrested for Causing Roommate's Death After Fight in Resort Dormitory

Claims Incident Occurred While Defending Himself After Being Hit with a Liquor Bottle
A man in his 60s, an employee of a cleaning service company, was arrested by the police after causing the death of his roommate during an argument while drinking at a resort in Hongcheon, Gangwon Province.
The Hongcheon Police Station announced on the 20th that they have taken Mr. A, in his 60s, in for voluntary questioning to investigate whether to apply charges of assault resulting in death.
Mr. A is suspected of causing the death of Mr. B, also in his 60s and his roommate, by knocking him down during a physical altercation while drinking at an employee dormitory of a large resort in Seomyeon, Hongcheon-gun, around 3:45 a.m. that day.
Mr. A, who reported the incident to the police himself, stated that the accident occurred in the process of defending himself after Mr. B hit him with a liquor bottle.
Mr. B was transported to Hongcheon Asan Hospital in cardiac arrest but passed away about two hours later. Mr. A also sustained a head injury during the fight and received medical treatment.

According to the police, both individuals were confirmed to be working together as employees of a cleaning service company at the resort. The police are investigating the exact circumstances of the incident.
