Yeongdeungpo-gu (District Mayor Choi Ho-kwon) announced that it will operate the ‘2025 Yeongdeungpo Youth Financial Academy’ to help young people achieve economic independence.
The Financial Academy will run from April to September and provide practical support, including financial and investment education as well as customized financial counseling, to young people aged 19 to 39 who reside and live in Yeongdeungpo-gu.
As the recent high inflation and high interest rate situation continues, financial anxiety among the youth is increasing, emphasizing the importance of systematic financial management and asset planning. This academy was planned to help young people build correct financial knowledge and manage their assets in a planned manner.
The ‘2025 Yeongdeungpo Youth Financial Academy’ will operate three main programs: ▲Youth Economic Guide ▲1:1 Customized Financial Counseling ▲Guest Speaker Special Lectures.
From April to July, the ‘Youth Economic Guide’ lectures will be held three times a month for a total of 12 sessions. Topics include ▲tax-saving methods and tax knowledge ▲credit management and loan knowledge ▲prevention of jeonse fraud, with experts in each field providing essential economic information for young people. Each session will recruit 20 participants, and applications for the April lectures are accepted until March 31. Applications can be easily made via the QR code.
In May, ‘1:1 Customized Financial Counseling’ will be offered. Through individual counseling, consumption habits will be analyzed, and financial goal setting and implementation strategies will be supported. It is expected to provide practical help especially to young people who are new to society and those from low-income groups.
In September, a ‘Large-scale Guest Speaker Special Lecture’ in the fields of economy and investment, preferred by young people, will be held. The topics and speakers will be selected reflecting the opinions of young people who participated in the ‘Youth Economic Guide’ program.

Choi Ho-kwon, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo-gu, stated, “Interest in investment among young people is growing amid high inflation and employment difficulties,” and added, “We will spare no effort to actively support young people in establishing correct economic concepts and achieving economic independence.”
