Incheon Namdong-gu Launches Foreign Resident SNS Reporter Group... Spreading District News Domestically and Internationally
Namdong-gu, Incheon, is spreading district news domestically and internationally through an SNS press corps composed of foreign residents.
The district announced on the 18th that it recently launched the 'Namdong-style Foreign Resident SNS Press Corps' by selecting citizen reporters through a public recruitment targeting foreigners residing in Incheon.
The press corps consists of marriage immigrants in their 20s to 50s from Vietnam, the Philippines, China, Taiwan, Japan, Russia, and Iran. Namdong-gu is the only district with a citizen press corps composed solely of marriage immigrants.
The district operates the foreign press corps to strengthen communication between foreign residents and the local community and to expand opportunities for social participation. Sharing their know-how on settling in Korea is expected to help newly arriving foreign residents successfully integrate into the local community.

They will be active until December this year, introducing major policies, small and medium-sized enterprise products, and lifestyle information in multiple languages through SNS.
They will also leverage their experience living in Korea and their respective cultural backgrounds to directly cover and create content about Namdong-gu’s major attractions and popular restaurants. Additionally, they will visit major event sites such as the Soraepogu Festival to provide tourism interpretation support and promote various aspects of Namdong-gu in foreign languages.
The press corps’ activities will be featured on Namdong-gu’s official multilingual Facebook page and in the multilingual district newsletter 'Namdong Saramdeul,' which has been published monthly since last year.
