Yeosu City Completes Construction of '365 Islands Photo and Video Database'
Increased Value of Exhibition Materials for the Island Expo
Yeosu City, Jeonnam Province (Mayor Chung Kimyung) announced on the 17th that it has completed the construction of a database featuring photos and video materials that capture the appearance of its 365 islands.
According to the city, high-definition photos of both inhabited and uninhabited islands, as well as region-specific videos and VR panoramas, were taken to enhance the quality of the database by vividly showcasing each island's scenery and terrain. Through VR panoramas that capture a 360-degree view of the islands, users can enjoy a realistic video experience as if they are actually visiting the islands without having to go there in person.
The city plans to gradually release these materials through the official website of the 2026 Yeosu World Island Expo Organizing Committee, and to utilize them as exhibition materials during the 2026 Yeosu World Island Expo.
A city official stated, "With these photos and video materials, anyone can explore the beautiful islands of Yeosu, which we expect will not only promote the Island Expo but also greatly contribute to revitalizing tourism to Yeosu's islands."
