Gwangju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Bang Se-hwan) announced on the 17th that traffic on both directions of National Road No. 3 between Seommol IC and Ssangdong JC will be restricted during nighttime from 10 PM on the 20th to 6 AM on the 21st for the construction of the Jungdae-dong ramp on National Road No. 3 between Seongnam and Janghowon.

View original imageThe city originally planned to restrict traffic on this section from 10 PM on the 18th to 6 AM on the 19th, but the schedule was changed due to the forecast of snow and rain.
This traffic restriction is for the installation of girders on the newly constructed bridge crossing National Road No. 3. During this period, two out of three lanes in both directions will be restricted, and a full closure of all three lanes in both directions will be implemented twice for 15 minutes each time while the girders are being installed.
Since this section usually experiences heavy traffic, the construction will be carried out during nighttime hours. With the cooperation of the police station and the deployment of sign cars, vehicles will be guided to slow down to prevent accidents and minimize inconvenience to users.
A Gwangju City official stated, “As this construction is unavoidable to alleviate severe traffic congestion in the Taejeon district and on National Roads No. 43 and 45, we ask for citizens’ cooperation and safe driving.”

Meanwhile, the ramp construction project for the Seongnam?Janghowon expressway involves building an access ramp with a total length of 1.856 km (including a 65 m crossing bridge) that will directly connect the Taejeon district to National Road No. 3 (Seongnam?Janghowon) via Gobul-ro and Jung-ro 1-17. The project is scheduled for completion and full opening in January 2026.
