Yeongju Holds Citizen Health Walking Event with Over 1,500 Participants
Promoting Health and Enjoying the Spring Atmosphere

The '2025 Yeongju Citizen Health Walking Festival', aimed at promoting the health and unity of Yeongju citizens in North Gyeongsang Province, was held on the 15th at the Seocheon riverside, with about 1,500 citizens participating.
This event was organized by the Yeongju Sports Council to encourage citizens to adopt healthy lifestyle habits and share the joy of walking together.
After the opening ceremony, which started at 8:30 a.m., participants warmed up with light exercises and then enjoyed the refreshing spring air as they walked along the designated course.

View original imageThe course began at the inline skating rink under Yeongju Bridge, passed through the 1st and 2nd Gaheung Bridges, and turned back at Hanjeong Bridge, covering a total distance of 7 km. Participants enjoyed pleasant conversations and walked together with family, partners, and friends.
Kim Sangmin (Hyucheon-dong) said, "This is my first time participating. The cold weather has finally eased this week, so I thought it would be great for walking. I really enjoyed feeling the spring atmosphere while walking along Seocheon."
Participants received commemorative T-shirts and snacks. A raffle was also held, offering a variety of prizes such as bicycles, home appliances, and daily necessities, adding to the festive atmosphere.

An official from the city sports council said, "It was a meaningful event where many citizens walked together, sharing health and happiness," and added, "We will prepare various programs to help build a healthy civil society."
