Pre-Pregnancy Health Management Support Project and More

Seongbuk-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Seung-ro) is expanding maternal and child health projects, including pre-pregnancy health management support and infertility support, to promote healthy pregnancies and comfortable childbirth.

The pre-pregnancy health management support project is designed to support the health management of men and women of reproductive age from before pregnancy for the health of mothers and fetuses. It was piloted early from November last year and supported a total of 1,352 people by the end of February this year.

Last year, only couples (including engaged couples and common-law marriages) could apply, but this year, all men and women aged 20 to 49 of reproductive age can apply regardless of marital status. Women can receive up to 130,000 KRW for ovarian function tests and gynecological ultrasound examination fees, and men can receive up to 50,000 KRW for detailed sperm morphology tests.

In addition, the infertility couple treatment cost support project has expanded the number of supported treatments from 25 times per couple to 25 times per childbirth since November last year. Also, starting from January this year, medical expenses for infertility treatment discontinuation can be supported in cases of treatment interruption due to poor endometrium, low ovarian response, early ovulation, anovulation, or other medical reasons.

The frozen egg assisted reproductive technology support project assists couples attempting pregnancy and childbirth using frozen eggs, providing up to 1,000,000 KRW per treatment for frozen egg thawing fees and fresh embryo IVF procedure fees, supporting up to two times per couple.
