View original imageThe Gwangju Regional Committee of the Roh Moo-hyun Foundation announced on the 12th that it will hold a commemorative forum on the 16th under the theme "March 16, 2002 Gwangju Primary: The Great Victory of Gwangju Citizens, Roh Moo-hyun Once Again."
The forum, scheduled for the afternoon of the 16th at the seminar room on the first floor of the National Sports Center at Yeomju Gymnasium, will commemorate the Gwangju primary of the Millennium Democratic Party and the "Nopung" (Roh Moo-hyun phenomenon) during the 2002 presidential candidate selection. The event aims to reflect on the significance of President Roh Moo-hyun's philosophy and values in today's political and social context.
At the forum, former Gangwon Province Governor Lee Kwangjae will serve as the keynote speaker, revisiting the historical significance of the "Nopung" that swept through the 2002 Gwangju primary. He will discuss the direction Korea should pursue based on the values and philosophy emphasized by President Roh Moo-hyun.
Members of the Roh Moo-hyun Foundation, citizens, and key figures who participated in the March 16, 2002 Gwangju primary will attend the forum.
Ha Sungcheon, Secretary-General of the Gwangju Regional Committee of the Roh Moo-hyun Foundation, stated, "The 'Nopung' that arose during the 2002 Gwangju primary was a powerful force that changed the era. Through this forum, we hope to reflect on the meaning of President Roh Moo-hyun's philosophy and values in today's society and to contemplate together the path we should take in the future."
