Gwangju Buk-gu Launches First Operation of Age-Friendly City Monitoring Group
On the 12th, Buk-gu, Gwangju announced that it will operate a monitoring team for the first time this year to create an age-friendly city.
The monitoring team is responsible for identifying inconveniences faced by the elderly and suggesting improvement measures. They will also inspect the operation status of related projects and support the promotion of senior welfare.
The appointment ceremony will be held at 3 p.m. on the 13th at Buk-gu Office. The 22 members of the team were selected through an open recruitment process, and their term of office is two years.
Buk-gu aims to resolve welfare blind spots for the elderly and implement policies that reflect on-site opinions through the operation of the monitoring team.
Mayor Moon In said, "It is meaningful that the residents are taking the lead in creating an age-friendly city," and added, "We will do our best to ensure that seniors can enjoy a dignified later life."
