Selected Works to Be Announced in August
The National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art announced on the 11th that the 2025 Art Bank and Government Art Bank artwork purchase contest will be held from the 13th of this month until the 3rd of next month.
The Art Bank and Government Art Bank are programs established to support creation and revitalize the art market. The National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art operates these programs by purchasing artworks and lending them to public institutions and the private sector.
This year's contest targets have been diversified to include mid-career full-time artists, emerging artists, and artists with disabilities.
Applications will be accepted from the 13th until the 3rd of next month through the Art Bank and Government Art Bank website (artbank.go.kr). Only one artwork can be submitted to either the Art Bank or the Government Art Bank.
The contest evaluation will be conducted by a panel of art experts who will comprehensively consider the purpose of the project, originality, artistry, and usability. The selected works will be announced in August through the Art Bank and Government Art Bank website.
