Amcham Korea and North Gyeongsang Province Sign MOU to Attract Global Corporate Investment
On the 7th, North Gyeongsang Province signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the American Chamber of Commerce in Korea (AMCHAM) at The-K Hotel Gyeongju, focusing on cooperation to attract investment from global companies.
This agreement was promoted to strengthen cooperation and support for foreign-invested companies in North Gyeongsang Province and to pledge mutual cooperation for the successful hosting of the 2025 APEC Summit.

View original imageWith the signing of this MOU between North Gyeongsang Province and AMCHAM, cooperation between the two organizations is expected to be further strengthened. It is anticipated that this will serve as a significant turning point for North Gyeongsang Province in becoming a global investment hub.
AMCHAM, the largest chamber of commerce in Korea with over 800 member companies, will enable North Gyeongsang Province to expand its network with AMCHAM member companies and enhance economic cooperation with American businesses based on this MOU. The province also plans to support various economic cooperation events and seminars hosted by AMCHAM.
In addition, the APEC Summit to be held in Gyeongju in the second half of this year is expected to become a crucial turning point for North Gyeongsang Province’s global investment attraction activities. Through this MOU, the two organizations will work together on a variety of activities before and after the APEC Summit, including investment promotion related to APEC, co-hosting networking events, and discovering opportunities for collaboration with global companies.

As an executive committee member of the 2025 APEC CEO Summit Organizing Committee, I will do my utmost to closely collaborate with Governor Lee Cheolwoo and the Korean government to facilitate meaningful discussions between global business leaders and policymakers.”
He added, “This MOU signing ceremony is another important step that demonstrates AMCHAM’s firm commitment to creating a world-class business environment where American and Korean companies can grow, innovate, and prosper together.”
