They are also known to have completed essential training such as drug prevention and fire safety conducted by the Yangju City Health Center and Fire Station before being assigned to each farm.
On that day, Mayor Kang Su-hyun extended a welcome greeting to the workers, saying, “We deeply appreciate you coming all this way for the development of Yangju City’s agriculture,” and promised, “The city will actively support you so that you can work in a stable and comfortable environment.”
He then held meetings with farm representatives to listen to the current status of worker placement and operational difficulties, seeking more systematic and efficient workforce management plans.
Currently, the city is actively promoting the foreign seasonal worker program in cooperation with various countries including Laos, Cambodia, and Vietnam.
Through this, farms can secure skilled labor stably, and workers are provided with quality jobs, aiming to establish a mutually cooperative model.
In particular, with this 4th arrival, it is expected that workers of various nationalities will harmoniously work in Yangju City’s agricultural fields, further strengthening the competitiveness of local agriculture.
Mayor Kang Su-hyun emphasized, “The foreign seasonal worker program has become an important foundation for the development of local agriculture,” and added, “We will continue to prepare various support measures to strengthen agricultural competitiveness.”
