Guro-gu Provides Free Replacement of High-Efficiency Light Emitting Diode (LED) Lighting for Vulnerable Groups
Guro-gu is launching a free distribution of high-efficiency light-emitting diode (LED) lighting for vulnerable groups.
High-efficiency light-emitting diode (LED) lighting consumes less power and is brighter compared to traditional incandescent or fluorescent lamps, resulting in significant energy savings and reduced electricity bills.
Accordingly, the district will implement the ‘2025 Vulnerable Groups LED Lighting Distribution Support Project,’ which fully replaces old incandescent and fluorescent lamps with high-efficiency LED lighting for low-income households in the area.
The support targets households receiving livelihood, medical, housing, and education benefits, the near-poor class, and permanent rental housing residents. However, the following are excluded from support: △existing lighting that is not fluorescent △lighting equipment replaced within the last five years △facilities completed less than five years ago as of the application date △facilities with plans for remodeling or relocation including electrical work as of the application date.
Households wishing to switch to LED lighting can apply by visiting the Environmental Division of the district office or their local community service center by April 25.
Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis for 50 households, and after on-site inspections, the final support recipients will be selected.
