The couple Shin Cheolmin and Jeon Sugyeong (Yunyun Farm) returned to farming in 2007 and began their agricultural journey. As members of the Goheung Cucumber Growers' Association, they have contributed greatly to promoting the excellence of local agricultural products by shipping large volumes of Baekdadagi (white cucumber) and producing high-quality yuzu, thereby preserving and publicizing the superiority of Korean agricultural products.
The couple Shin Gangho and Lee Sujeong (Sujeong Farm) lead a diversified farming operation, cultivating strawberries and melons in greenhouses, growing rice, and raising Hanwoo cattle. For several years, they have served as leaders of the farming association and the strawberry growers' group, providing significant support to local farmers and actively participating in volunteer activities promoting cooperation and mutual prosperity.
Lee Gwangil, head of the Jeonnam NongHyup branch, said, "I sincerely congratulate you on winning the New Farmer of the Month award," and added, "I hope you will continue to play a leading role in the development of local agriculture and rural communities by disseminating advanced farming techniques and fostering the next generation of farmers."
Meanwhile, NongHyup headquarters selects and awards leading farmers who contribute to increasing farm income, advancing agricultural science, and developing local agriculture based on the new farmer spirit of self-reliance, science, and cooperation.
