This year, 10 members of the private inspection team will be active for eight months during periods of high fine dust levels from March to June and September to December.
The private inspection team uses portable fine dust measuring devices to carry out activities such as ▲monitoring illegal activities at air pollution emission sites ▲checking compliance with dust suppression measures at construction sites ▲monitoring suspected odor-causing businesses ▲supporting enforcement against diesel vehicle emissions and idling ▲monitoring and cracking down on illegal waste incineration and conducting promotional activities.
In particular, when high-concentration fine dust emergency reduction measures are issued, the team supports verifying whether major emission sites and construction sites have shortened operating hours and enforces vehicle emission controls.
Last year, the private inspection team conducted monitoring, guidance, and promotional activities including inspections of 176 suspected odor-causing businesses, 8,662 dust-generating sites, monitoring 5,300 construction sites using portable fine dust measuring devices, and 2,624 vehicle emission enforcement cases.
