Former NCT Member Taeyil, Non-Detention Indictment... Accused of Special Rape Charges
Former idol group NCT member Taeil (31, real name Moon Taeil), who is accused of sexual crimes, has been indicted without detention.
According to the legal community on the 4th, the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office's Women's and Children's Crime Investigation Division 1 (Chief Prosecutor Kim Ji-hye) recently indicted Moon on charges of special rape under the Sexual Violence Punishment Act without detention.
Earlier, Moon was accused of sexually assaulting a woman who was intoxicated in June of last year.
The Seoul Bangbae Police Station, which handled the case, summoned Moon as a suspect in August of last year for investigation and then transferred the case to the prosecution in September of the same year. At that time, the police applied for an arrest warrant for Moon, but it was once dismissed by the court.

Moon debuted in 2016 as a member of NCT's unit NCT U and was active as a member of NCT and its sub-unit NCT 127. When the sexual crime controversy involving Moon arose, SM Entertainment, his agency at the time, decided to terminate his exclusive contract in October of last year.
