Hongseong County to Support Installation of Eco-friendly Home Boilers for Vulnerable Groups
A Subsidy of 600,000 KRW Per Unit Provided for 12 Households
On the 4th, Hongseong County in South Chungcheong Province announced that it will implement the "2025 Home Eco-friendly Boiler Installation Support Project" to help stabilize the lives of low-income and vulnerable residents, improve air quality, and achieve carbon neutrality.
The project provides a subsidy of 600,000 KRW per unit for the installation of condensing gas boilers with a gas consumption of 70kW or less that have received environmental certification. The county plans to support a total of 12 units this year.
Eligible recipients include low-income and vulnerable households, multi-child families with a median income of 100% or less, and social welfare facilities (such as facilities for children, the elderly, and the disabled) that install eco-friendly home boilers to replace old boilers after January 1, 2025.
Starting this year, the county has relaxed the income criteria for multi-child families from 70% or less of the median income to 100% or less.
Support is also provided to vulnerable groups living in areas not supplied with city gas if they replace existing wood, coal, or oil boilers with LPG boilers (certified for home use).
Applications are open until the 28th, and the head of household or supplier can apply in person at the Hongseong County Environmental Division, or submit applications by mail or online.
