KEPCO to Hire 700 New Employees This Year... 20% Increase Compared to Last Year
Applications Accepted on KEPCO Recruitment Website from March 11 to 14
Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) announced on the 4th that it will conduct new regular employee recruitment totaling 700 people annually, starting with a public recruitment of 310 university graduate-level positions in the first half of this year.
This number represents an approximately 20% increase compared to last year and is the largest recruitment scale by KEPCO since 2022.
In addition to regular positions, KEPCO plans to operate an experiential internship program for about 900 people annually, mainly targeting young job seekers to provide work experience opportunities.
KEPCO explained, "Despite difficult management conditions, all employees have been working together on high-intensity self-help measures such as voluntary retirement and workforce reallocation, and as a result of these efforts, we are able to increase youth employment this year."
In the first half recruitment, about 80% of the hires will be in technical fields. KEPCO plans to focus placement in core business areas such as large-scale transmission network construction and implementation of the Distributed Energy Special Act to secure the driving force to lead innovation in the power business.
KEPCO will also expand recruitment of high school graduate talent. This year, 87 high school graduates (including restricted recruitment and experiential interns) will be hired, which is 2.1 times the number of high school hires from the previous year.
Applications for the first half university graduate-level public recruitment will be accepted from the 11th to the 14th on KEPCO’s recruitment website. After the first document screening, second written test, third competency interview, and fourth comprehensive interview, the final 310 successful candidates will be selected in June.
