View original imageA man in his 50s has been booked by the police after crashing his car into the outer wall of the Nam-gu District Office in Gwangju while driving under the influence.
The Gwangju Nambu Police Station announced on the 4th that they are investigating a man in his 50s, identified as A, on suspicion of violating the Road Traffic Act (drunk driving).
A is accused of driving his car under the influence of alcohol at around 3:03 a.m. the previous day near Baegun Intersection in Nam-gu, Gwangju, and crashing into the first-floor outer wall of the Nam-gu District Office. As a result of the accident, A sustained minor injuries and was transported to the hospital. Since the accident occurred early in the morning, there were no pedestrians in the area and no additional casualties, but part of the building's outer wall and some windows were damaged.
According to the police investigation, A's blood alcohol concentration was at a level warranting license revocation.
The police plan to investigate the exact circumstances of the accident.
