Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced that it will operate the ‘Morning Care Kiwoom Center’ starting this March to reduce the childcare burden on dual-income families during commuting hours and to support the safe route to school for elementary students.

The ‘Morning Care Kiwoom Center’ is a program that takes care of elementary school children during the morning hours (7 AM to 9 AM), when parents are commuting to work and children are preparing to go to school. In January, Geumcheon-gu’s Our Neighborhood Kiwoom Center No. 1 (30 Beotkkot-ro) was selected as a participating center in the Seoul City public project.

Our Neighborhood Kiwoom Center No. 1 in Geumcheon-gu is an elementary care facility for students who need after-school care. Starting this March, dedicated teachers will help elementary students who come to the center in the morning with homework and snacks, and accompany them safely to school according to the school start time.

The ‘Morning Care Kiwoom Center’ can be used free of charge not only by children who already use the center’s after-school care services but also by any guardians with elementary school children (ages 6 to 12). Applications can be made by calling Our Neighborhood Kiwoom Center No. 1 in Geumcheon-gu.

Yu Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, said, “With the operation of the Morning Care Kiwoom Center, parents in dual-income families can gain psychological stability and time flexibility, and children can have a lively and healthy morning. We will continue our efforts to make Geumcheon a great place to raise children.”
